Our Live! Staycation!!

Monday, June 10, 2019

This post is sponsored by Live! Casino & Hotel, all views and experiences are mine and mine alone.

Nothing Like a Little Spa Get Away!!

Last weekend we spent the night at Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, we needed a little recharge getaway and there's no better place to do so then 15 minutes from home. The Friday afternoon we checked in we caught the Family Feud Live show at the Live! Event Center, it was beyond funny and so much fun. They had some celebrity family members and they also gave aways some serious cash and prizes to the audience members. I always told Rob while we are watching the show at home that I would do so well, when in all actuality I would probably freeze realizing the world was watching ....lol! After the show we stopped into the casino for some Super 4 Progressive Blackjack and some slots. The Super 4 is fantastic and it gives you more chances to hit big, featuring top jackpots starting at $50,000 that could hit on a single $5 bet. Both games also offer an exclusive additional “Must-Hit” progressive guaranteed to hit by $500. Believe it or not your girl had some beginners luck and won some serious cash...I got #LuckyAtLive!!

After we played for a few we headed off to the mall to grab a few things, I love that Arundle Mills Mall is just steps away from the hotel and casino. I was able to find some great items I scored on sale. Around 6:30pm we at dinner at Prime Rib, from start to finish the meal was amazing. Our server Flower was super helpful and she explained the menu from start to finish, as well as giving us recommendations on the best thing to order. We started off with a house salad (extra tomatoes), fresh rolls (mind you the pretzel rolls were absolutely amazing) and a french onion soup. For our entrees I got the Peruvian chicken, and Rob the salmon. The sides are all ala carte and definitely more than enough for two so we ordered the mashed potatoes and asparagus to share.

Everything was more than tasty and cooked to perfection, I sure wish I could cook chicken like that at home. The mashed potatoes had a cheesy hint to them that went just right with everything on the table. Once we were stuffed to the gills we headed back up to the room to unwind and get some shut eye. Now let's talk about the super comfy bed shall we, the room was beautiful fresh and super clean. The decor is modern and welcoming, I fell in love with the bathroom, the shower is huge and the vanity was all in beautiful black marble. We got the best night of rest and were more than ready for our couples massage at the
Live! Spa.  Since we wouldn't be eating brunch until after I ordered up a little something to the room, nothing like fresh fruit for breakfast right?

Around 11am we headed off to the Spa on the 2nd floor, it was thee most relaxing atmosphere. You change into beautiful thick robes, and chill on comfy sofas, with the sound of rain, fruit infused water or hot tea until the massage therapists come to get you for your session. I have to say it was the single most amazing massage I have EVER had, especially since I have never gotten one professionally. Rob has serious back issues and even he was overly-thrilled. I was honestly surprised because he's very hard to please when it comes to a back massage. I definitely wish I could get one a week, it's got to be good for stress and tension for sure.

In our more than relaxed state plus a little champagne, we showered, got dressed and headed off to David's for Brunch. What a good move that was. To start off I ordered the caesar salad and onion soup, which sure didn't disappoint since it actually came in an onion. Yes I said an onion, it was hollowed out into a bowl and topped with warm crusty bread. For our entrees I ordered the parmesan crusted chicken and Rob the chicken sandwich.

Another amazing meal for sure, so much so that I barely had room for a delish cupcake gelato sundae from Luckies. You know I had to get creative where dessert is concerned. They had so much to choose from, I just couldn't help myself. All in all we were bummed to have to head home but we were excited to get back home to Piper and as I always say 'There's No Place Like Home!" which might I add was only 15-20 minutes away. We had such a good time and everyone was so nice and helpful, we'll definitely be doing this again soon.

Everything from A to Z in the casino and hotel is overdone with class, right down to the artwork and floral decor. It's all around amazing and on my recommendation list. If you haven't been yet try it, something tells me after that massage you'll be thanking me...lol!! Have a wonderful week dolls and please sound off below with your favorite Staycation spot!? I'm curious what you guys love!!

Brunch on The Avenue

Love me a Good Sunday Brunch!

There is a great little spot in Hampden called The Food Market, all in all it's not that far from me. I would say its about 15-20 minutes from my house in Randallstown/Owings Mills. It's one of my favorite spots, not to mention is flippin' amazing, they have thee best brunch menu EVER! Now don't get me wrong they have an amazing dinner menu as well, from Mon-Fri they don't open until 5pm, then on the weekends they open at 9am. There is a full bar and mind you the drinks are relish, i got the one above which is called Bohemian Raspberry. I like my cocktails fruity and sweet, it's just better when they go down yummy, who wants to choke down a drink that tastes utterly horrible? I want to taste and enjoy it, not force it down whilst I make a cringed up face and most liquor does that in my case unless it's cut with something sweet. Are you the same way??...I'd love to know in the comments. Back to the food, Rob and I started out with the soft pretzels and beer cheese, now keep in mind tis is what they're known for...and now I know why!! the pretzels where soft and buttery and the cheese was thick rich and tasty, such a perfect match.

Then for the mains I ordered the Peruvian Cheesteak which is made up of fork pull short rib, smothered in cheese and lots of yummy fried onions and red peppers on a soft sub roll, topped with jalapeños and sided with fresh fries. It’s  an absolute master piece that I will be going back for many times over,. Rob ordered the chicken and biscuits, which he ate every bite of mind you. We never leave The Food Market hungry or unhappy, and it seems we aren't the only ones that feel this way because they're always packed no matter what time you go in. I'll give you a tip, make a reservation or you will be waiting to get a table.

After brunch we walked down to The Creamery to grab an ice cream, we decided to grab the newest flavor Baltimore In A Box...WOW was it good!! They always have amazing sweets, i love their hot chocolates as well, i like to top mine with one of their amazing homemade caramel marshmallows.
You know I have a crazy sweet tooth and while I constantly say... "It's always a good time for ice-cream", it was a little insane today being it was six degrees. Let's just say it was more than cold shooting the ice-cream and omg super windy so it felt even colder. Sadly not long after this shot the wind blew the cherry right off the ice cream onto the ground, it was about then I decided enough ice cream pictures...lol!! Well I hope you guys enjoyed my Sunday brunch escapades, but done't go yet I have a surprise for you, just scroll down for more!!

How To Make Your Airport Experience that much better!

My AirPort Excursion & Discovering the Airport Sherpa App!

Hello Luvs, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!! Now you know when I find amazing local stuff I always share it with you. I had such a great experience today with the coolest app that I found out about while I was in BWI airport. A good friend of mine is in Florida on vacation and his daughter came back 2 days sooner, so naturally I was there to pick her up. Now granted the airport is not always my favorite place to hang out, to make it even worse her flight got delayed an hour. We all had plans to go to dinner after we picked her up, so I didn’t eat anything before I came, so by this time I was absolutely starving and I wondered what I would do? While I was waiting by the security check area a woman told me about the coolest app called Airport Sherpa. With this free app you can order food from all the great spots in the airport, and they will bring it to you wherever you are, pre-security at that. So I headed to the observation deck, another awesome airport first for me and a great little spot where you can look over all the runways, sit back in a comfy chair, charge your phone, chill and in my case eat. I settled in for my hour wait and ordered myself some food, drinks, and of course a #Cinnabon.
All in all I have to say that Airport Sherpa made my airport experience pretty fantastic, I’ll forever be using this app anytime I’m at BWI, especially when I go to Greece later this year. You should grab the app for yourself, you will love the convenience it brings. Just click on the link below, depending on what operating system you have. If you have any questions at all check out their page on Instagram or Twitter @AirportSherpa

⚠️LINKS TO DOWNLOAD THE APP⚠️
App Store:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/airport-sherpa/id1071591592

Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.airportsherpa

Here are some yummy shots of the food Rob and I ordered, I got a turkey BLT and Rob ordered a cheesestake sub and wow did it hit the spot, not to mention the Cinnabon was gooey and hot just like it was supposed to be. The food made it to us suer fast and hot, I definitely couldn't of been more happy with the Airport Sherpa employee, she was super nice and more than helpful because it was obviously my first time using the app, which was suer easy to maneuver. Plus I also loved that I was able to order different items from different stores, that made the whole experience that much easier. I definitely recommend downloading the Airport Sherpa App and then next time you travel through BWI Airport you will be able to try it for yourself!!

an you best believe after my belly was full that a quick shut eye while i was waiting for sure took place...hey I'm only human and I was super comfy. Y'all have a wonderful week and don't forget to follow us on social media, we have a lot of amazing giveaways coming up!!

A New Restaurant!!

A New Baltimore Favorite!

About two weeks ago Rob and I discovered a great little restaurant called La Food Marketa, it's off of Green Spring not far from my house, I would say about 6-8 minutes away. The exact location is 2620 Quarry Lake Dr, Baltimore MD 21209, I'm also going to note the phone number because this place is always packed, and you definitely have to call ahead and make a reservation during the evening shift. We got there at 5pm and there were people already waiting for the doors to open, and i ish you not within 15 minutes the parking lot and ever seat in the restaurant were full. The phone number is: (410) 415-0606. What I did was make a reservation through OpenTable, it's a great little app that let's you make a reservation via your cellphone for just about any restaurant, anywhere. It's so convenient and it's also free, not to mention it will find you different types or restaurants in your immediate area. Incase you aren't familiar with the area, it's definitely come in handy for me many times over. La Food Marketa in particular is open for breakfast and lunch from 11am to 2pm, then they close for a couple hours, and re-open at 5pm to 9pm or 10pm, depending on what day of the week it is. Check out their website (La Food Marketa Website) for the exact hours of operation on what days. As you can see in the image above we started off with the chips and dip trio, it comes with queso, guacamole, and salsa, with the perfect tortilla chips, they're super thin and crispy, just how i like 'em. Rob really loved the queso cheese dip, it's one of his favorite Mexican appetizers as long as its the creamy kind. The type where they actually melt the cheese, then it gets hard and cold in like 5 minutes and turns into this thick, gooey ball and is no more good. We tend to stay away from that type, the consistency of the queso we like is more like nacho cheese.

I was super excited to find that they serve drinks, so I ordered myself a strawberry mojito to go with my chips and queso. WOW was it good!! We enjoyed the chips and dips for some time while we waited for our entrees. I ordered the Peruvian Fajitas and Rob got the Rockfish, needless to say we were both overly pleased with each dish. Mine as you can see below came with the Peruvian spiced chicken, some refried beans, rice, and a cabbage and onion mixture. Then the dish was topped with a delish and super flavorful sauce, sided with lime dip and a couple of soft warn tortillas. OMGoodness the entire dish was amazing, and the chicken was cooked to perfection, Rob said the same about his, and it's always super hard to please him where food is concerned because he is very pick. Happily he exclaimed how it was cooked just right so it was in turn very flaky. The fish itself as you can see in the picture sat atop a lovely little stew that he described as very flavorful.

(Peruvian Chicken Fajitas)

(Rockfish)

Let's just say that by the end of the meal we were both stuffed and happy as can be, I didn't even save room for desert which isn't like me. We will definitely be going back for more, as a matter of fact we have already been back once since this trip here. If you live in Maryland or DC even, it's definitely worth the trip to check out La Food Marketa, it's a great little atmosphere, and the staff is super nice, very helpful and on point. You can't ask any more from a restaurant, and to top it all off the price point is perfect. It's more than affordable, my only regret is that I didn't save room for dessert because they had some great choices. If you know of any good restaurants in the Baltimore area, or anywhere in Maryland for that matter, that you would love to see me review definitely let me know by commenting below. I'm always looking for good spots to share with everyone. You never know it may head up my next post, and I will definitely give you credit for the referral.

Have a wonderful day and don't forget to follow Piper and I on social media!

Getting the yard ready for spring!

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

Welcome Spring!!

We started to beautify the yard for the summer, we decided to get as much color as possible to make it stand out. I love lots of pinks, yellows and purples. I also wanted to get plants that flower all summer. I have bought some that literally bloom once or twice then for the rest of the summer they’re just green leaves, which is very blah. So this time I did a little research (by asking the sales person 🤣) what will remain colorful and bloom the whole summer season. I planted about 25 hibiscus plants last summer, and even though it says they would come back they still haven’t. I have been watching them and still I see no signs of life which is disappointing. They are an amazing plant and they bloom huge beautiful flowers all summer. As annoyed as I am they didn’t come back, I will still be buying them again for the season, I was so impressed by their beauty and how easy they we’re to care for. I have a heavy deer population in my area and they destroy everything, it’s quite apparent that they love Hibiscus as much as I do.

So in my quest for flowers to put in the front and back yard I asked are there any that are colorful that they will not eat? Turns out there is really no flower they won’t eat, but there are some they don’t like that much. Marigold, Begonia and Zinnia are just a couple, they’re also pretty and full of color. I think being paired with some well rotated deer repellant that we should do much better this summer with keeping them at bay. Nothing is more heartbreaking than working your butt off all spring to nurture and grow gorgeous flowers, which in turn make your home look beautiful, then coming out one morning to see it all gone and destroyed by a dam deer. Last summer they hit all of the Hibiscus bushes by the patio and there was nothing left but broken branches almost to the root. They even ate the green on the walnut trees where they could reach, they literally destroyed all of our hard work. They’re a common problem that a lot of homeowners have to deal with, and mine is 10x worse since there is a deer reserve 6 blocks from my house.

Sometimes I feel like I should just give up, but then I realize I can’t. I am proud of my home so I want to make it beautiful by taking care of it and my yard. I’m pretty sure that I’m not alone in feeling this way. Now granted I was so mad when they ate everything last summer that for a couple days I did nothing but research ways to keep the deer away, I even thought about getting a privacy fence, but that would just close the yard in and ruin the open and free feel to it. I found out that there are companies you can pay that will come out once a week or every two weeks and spray a deer repellant, then the next time they switch it up a bit, so on and so on, it seems they get used to one spray, so they keep altering it to keep it effective. In combination with the flowers they don’t like, I think my yard will stand a chance. So that’s my game plan, I’ll definitely update you guys on how it goes, and how it looks once it’s all in and in full bloom

I can’t wait to post pics of the yard once she’s in full bloom and looking amazing, have a wonderful weekend and please feel free to comment with your opinions on he post, I always love hearing what you guys think,
💋💋

The Perfect Mother's Day Gift!!

Monday, April 16, 2018

(This post is #sponsored by: Mila & Such, all opinions and experiences are 100% mine and mine alone!)

Pink Perfection for Mother's Day!

I've been wondering what to get my mom for Mother’s Day for a couple months now. I love sending her flowers but they die, and candy she loves but I always hear how she regrets eating it later. So I though and though ....what do you buy for one of the most important women in your life!? I don’t want to spend to much, she’s gets upset when I do that, so I did a little searching online and asked some of my friends what they where getting for the moms. Then whilst peeking on Instagram I found it....The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift!! My friend Mila makes the most beautiful scarves, and when I say makes the scarves I mean it..she is part of making every bit of each one. She even hand creates/paints the designs on the scarves, they’re her actual art work. Super impressive right? She’s super talented! As I took a further peek at her page I noticed she makes the coolest Mother’s Day boxes, and OMG they’re so so cute inside and out. You guys know how much I love pink so I’m a bit partial, so my mother will for sure know it came from me. Long story short I ordered one to take to her in Delaware when we go to see her for Mother's Day.

(As you can see even @PiperthePin liked it!)

The box includes 2 stunning scarves, one is a blanket size with and the other is a smaller hanky size. They’re both adorned with the cutest kissy rose design, on a bright magenta backdrop. There’s a candle with the same logo, and adorned with little sparklies  There's also a second piece of artwork. I just love how she comes up with these stunning little pieces of art, and let me tell you the packaging is just as gorgeous as the contents. It’s so well decorated and wrapped that you can have it sent directly to mom, that’s the genius of the whole thing. You don't even need to add a card because the inner flap of the box has thee cutest card already included. (Check out my unboxing video on IG) There are several different box combinations you can choose from, and then Mila will sent to your mom no matter where she lives. Plus they’re priced to perfection, so it won't be too hard on your wallet. It's a fantastic way to make your mom feel special, for more info on what the boxes include and how to get one for your mom, just go to @MilaSuchNyc on Instagram, or head on over to her website Mila-such.com. Note if you're not a pink person like me she has many different designs in many different colors, so there's something for everyone. There are even matching throw pillows, ugh it's so much cuteness!
Don’t forget to tell her I sent you, just let her know you’re a friend of mine and she’ll take good care of you, she's an absolute doll!

Have a Wonderful Week!!
