 The Best Brunch EVER!!

Found an amazing brunch spot today hidden in Columbia MD called The Turn House, it's tucked away on the grounds of Hobbit's Glen Golf Course, at: 11130 Willow Bottom Dr., which I never knew existed. The decor is modern and classy with clean lines, as you walk in there's a sleek fireplace surrounded by a cool vibe with lots of gray hues. Since the weather was absolutely gorgeous we chose to sit out back where you get an amazing view of the gold course. It was very chill and relaxing, definitely an atmosphere that you guys will more than enjoy, I know I did. To start I ordered a watermelon margarita and Rob got on of their house made lemonades, both were super good. They also have great mimosas which are only $7 or $20 for bottomless. My watermelon margarita was full of flavor and had just the right amount of sweet and salty, hence the old bay and salt mixture rimmed glass.

For the entrees I ordered the brisket hash, and Rob the signature burger, fries and summer salad. Mine came in a cute little skillet filled with cubed brisket, white and sweet potato hash, with two over medium eggs on top, all smothered with an amazing cheese sauce. Rob's was a brisket burger with cheese on a super soft bun, I didn't have any of the burger but I did eat a few of the fries ...(which were perfectly cooked). Let's just say he was more than pleased as he told me 2 or 3 times, which I can't laugh at because I found myself saying much of the same.

For dessert I ordered the cheesecake smothered with a berry compote, topped with two scoops of vanilla ice-cream and Rob the mint chocolate mousse, lets just say by the time we left we could barely move. My cheesecake was so rich and creamy, the vanilla ice-cream paired perfectly with the berry sauce. Everything was soooooo good that you just couldn't.. not eat every bite. I had to run 5 miles instead of the usual 3 to feel better about all of the calories I happily ate. If you are ever in the area I completely recommend The Turn House for Brunch, it's the best I have had in a long time. Now keep in mind it's a bit pricey, this meal was just over $100 so it's not an everyday spot, but for once in a while as a treat yasss!! It's for sure worth every penny, I can't wait to go back and try the dinner menu.

Brunch on The Avenue

Love me a Good Sunday Brunch!

There is a great little spot in Hampden called The Food Market, all in all it's not that far from me. I would say its about 15-20 minutes from my house in Randallstown/Owings Mills. It's one of my favorite spots, not to mention is flippin' amazing, they have thee best brunch menu EVER! Now don't get me wrong they have an amazing dinner menu as well, from Mon-Fri they don't open until 5pm, then on the weekends they open at 9am. There is a full bar and mind you the drinks are relish, i got the one above which is called Bohemian Raspberry. I like my cocktails fruity and sweet, it's just better when they go down yummy, who wants to choke down a drink that tastes utterly horrible? I want to taste and enjoy it, not force it down whilst I make a cringed up face and most liquor does that in my case unless it's cut with something sweet. Are you the same way??...I'd love to know in the comments. Back to the food, Rob and I started out with the soft pretzels and beer cheese, now keep in mind tis is what they're known for...and now I know why!! the pretzels where soft and buttery and the cheese was thick rich and tasty, such a perfect match.

Then for the mains I ordered the Peruvian Cheesteak which is made up of fork pull short rib, smothered in cheese and lots of yummy fried onions and red peppers on a soft sub roll, topped with jalapeños and sided with fresh fries. It’s  an absolute master piece that I will be going back for many times over,. Rob ordered the chicken and biscuits, which he ate every bite of mind you. We never leave The Food Market hungry or unhappy, and it seems we aren't the only ones that feel this way because they're always packed no matter what time you go in. I'll give you a tip, make a reservation or you will be waiting to get a table.

After brunch we walked down to The Creamery to grab an ice cream, we decided to grab the newest flavor Baltimore In A Box...WOW was it good!! They always have amazing sweets, i love their hot chocolates as well, i like to top mine with one of their amazing homemade caramel marshmallows.
You know I have a crazy sweet tooth and while I constantly say... "It's always a good time for ice-cream", it was a little insane today being it was six degrees. Let's just say it was more than cold shooting the ice-cream and omg super windy so it felt even colder. Sadly not long after this shot the wind blew the cherry right off the ice cream onto the ground, it was about then I decided enough ice cream pictures...lol!! Well I hope you guys enjoyed my Sunday brunch escapades, but done't go yet I have a surprise for you, just scroll down for more!!

A New Restaurant!!

A New Baltimore Favorite!

About two weeks ago Rob and I discovered a great little restaurant called La Food Marketa, it's off of Green Spring not far from my house, I would say about 6-8 minutes away. The exact location is 2620 Quarry Lake Dr, Baltimore MD 21209, I'm also going to note the phone number because this place is always packed, and you definitely have to call ahead and make a reservation during the evening shift. We got there at 5pm and there were people already waiting for the doors to open, and i ish you not within 15 minutes the parking lot and ever seat in the restaurant were full. The phone number is: (410) 415-0606. What I did was make a reservation through OpenTable, it's a great little app that let's you make a reservation via your cellphone for just about any restaurant, anywhere. It's so convenient and it's also free, not to mention it will find you different types or restaurants in your immediate area. Incase you aren't familiar with the area, it's definitely come in handy for me many times over. La Food Marketa in particular is open for breakfast and lunch from 11am to 2pm, then they close for a couple hours, and re-open at 5pm to 9pm or 10pm, depending on what day of the week it is. Check out their website (La Food Marketa Website) for the exact hours of operation on what days. As you can see in the image above we started off with the chips and dip trio, it comes with queso, guacamole, and salsa, with the perfect tortilla chips, they're super thin and crispy, just how i like 'em. Rob really loved the queso cheese dip, it's one of his favorite Mexican appetizers as long as its the creamy kind. The type where they actually melt the cheese, then it gets hard and cold in like 5 minutes and turns into this thick, gooey ball and is no more good. We tend to stay away from that type, the consistency of the queso we like is more like nacho cheese.

I was super excited to find that they serve drinks, so I ordered myself a strawberry mojito to go with my chips and queso. WOW was it good!! We enjoyed the chips and dips for some time while we waited for our entrees. I ordered the Peruvian Fajitas and Rob got the Rockfish, needless to say we were both overly pleased with each dish. Mine as you can see below came with the Peruvian spiced chicken, some refried beans, rice, and a cabbage and onion mixture. Then the dish was topped with a delish and super flavorful sauce, sided with lime dip and a couple of soft warn tortillas. OMGoodness the entire dish was amazing, and the chicken was cooked to perfection, Rob said the same about his, and it's always super hard to please him where food is concerned because he is very pick. Happily he exclaimed how it was cooked just right so it was in turn very flaky. The fish itself as you can see in the picture sat atop a lovely little stew that he described as very flavorful.

Let's just say that by the end of the meal we were both stuffed and happy as can be, I didn't even save room for desert which isn't like me. We will definitely be going back for more, as a matter of fact we have already been back once since this trip here. If you live in Maryland or DC even, it's definitely worth the trip to check out La Food Marketa, it's a great little atmosphere, and the staff is super nice, very helpful and on point. You can't ask any more from a restaurant, and to top it all off the price point is perfect. It's more than affordable, my only regret is that I didn't save room for dessert because they had some great choices. If you know of any good restaurants in the Baltimore area, or anywhere in Maryland for that matter, that you would love to see me review definitely let me know by commenting below. I'm always looking for good spots to share with everyone. You never know it may head up my next post, and I will definitely give you credit for the referral.

Have a wonderful day and don't forget to follow Piper and I on social media!
