Baltimore Summers

& OLD BAY Go Hand In Hand!!

(For more info on Old Bay Seasoning check out their website https://www.mccormick.com/old-bay)

There's nothing better than a good ole' fashion summer cookout, as long as I can remember it's just something we have always done. When I was a kid my grandfather had a boat slip off of Fort Smallwood Road, in Pasadena MD. All summer my brother Jason, and I spent the days with PaPaw down at the boatyard fishing, catching crabs, and swimming in the Chesapeake Bay. We also had all kinds of fun summer cookouts and get togethers, with family and friends, and there was always good food. I specifically remember the yummy burgers and fries, steamed crabs, soft shell crab sandwiches, chicken skewers, and much much more. Each one of these yummy dishes were flavored or seasoned with OLD BAY, it was always a staple at any summer activity where food was involved. One of my absolute faves was the OLD BAY Burger, I have a recipe that has been in our family for what seems like forever. With today being the first annual OLD BAY Day, I just had to share it with you guys, it's absolutely amazing and super easy to make.

Make sure you follow OLD BAY Seasoning for great recipes and updates!!

OLD BAY BURGER RECIPE!

Ingredients:
1. 1.5 lbs of Ground Beef
2. 1 Small diced onion
3. 1 Egg lightly whisked
4. 3 Tablespoons of OLD BAY seasoning
5. 3 Tablespoons of freshly chopped parsley
6. 1/2 Teaspoon of mustard
7. 1/2 Teaspoon of worcestershire sauce
6. Sesame seed buns
7. For serving you will need some freshly sliced beefsteak tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, and Amercian cheese.

Directions:
1. Combine the ingredients for the patties into a bowl, do not over mix.
2. Separate the mixture evenly into 6 patties.
3. Get the grill heated up to high, then place the burgers on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until you have beautiful grill marks, or until thoroughly cooked.

Serve them on big, soft, sesame seed buns with desired toppings. I just love lettuce, tomato and mayo, it always goes amazing with that OLD BAY flavor. Have you ever had an OLD BAY Burger? Now that I think about it,  they would make fabulous sliders as well, all you would have to do is portion them into smaller sizes. I think 12 would be the perfect number, which would work perfectly as a great group appetizer. There is also a great OLD BAY seasoned jerk chicken dish, it comes smothered in fresh mango salsa, with a side of honey mustard sauce for dipping. That's another amazing recipe that i'll definitely have to get and share with you guys. Today we did attended a great little shore side event that really brought back some memories of the old days, and all those amazing tasting recipes that went with them. All day I felt like I was in a time machine, all of the boats, the sun and the salty smell of the bay. All the kids where swimming and playing on the beach, the moms where sipping fruity cocktails, and the dads where grilling and talking away. It's just that simple life that makes you feel content, I have to say it's the absolute best.

As you can see once it was done I definitely couldn't resist the food, that's what I call real fun in the sun...lol! I've been working on a chicken cheese steak sub recipe, like the one you see above. The only difference with mine is it will be accompanied by some fresh cut, OLD BAY seasoned french fries, and they'll be the boardwalk style like you get in Ocean City, nice and thick. I haven't had fries like that in forever, so I'm really looking forward to it. Food like this just screams summer to me, especially when it's seasoned with OLD BAY! As you can see in the image below I got myself a sweet little drink to go with the burger, but usually I just order a Natty Bo because I find that beer usually goes better with a Bay Burger. I also think it would be even more amazing to stack a fried soft shell crab in between the bun and the burger itself. I'm super bummed I can't eat shellfish anymore because that idea would have for sure been made a reality. To be honest i miss the heck out of soft shell and steamed crabs, it's so weird how you can eat something your whole life than BAM one day you are just straight up allergic to it.

To tone up the day and of course look cute and stay cool, I wore a fun little tunic top I scored from Anthropologie, and paired it with some ripped jeans from American Eagle Outfitters. Then I added my Wanted embroidered slip on sneakers. Turns out they match the top perfectly, I just love it when that happens. Especially when it's my absolute favorite pair of shoes, well second pair of them that is. I had another pair that Piper chewed all to heck, I begrudgingly bought another pair asap, I didn't want to take the chance that I wouldn't be able to get them again, so I ordered a second pair. Thank goodness they're only $50 or they would have been history. I accessorized with my Tory Burch sunnies, and my pink Apple watch band. All in all it was a great look that I'm so glad I didn't spill anything on. I say that because I spilled a burrito on a brand new white top that I wore "for the first time" to Hon Fest last weekend, needless to say I was super ticked off...lol!

As you can see in the images above, we had a good group of people show up pier side. There was good music, good food and good company, and what's better than that? I hope your weekends where as great and you all had a wonderful Father's Day. Also if you have any good recipes please share them with me, i would love to see what you make taste great with OLD BAY seasoning, i think I may try a great grilled corn on the cob recipe as well, that sounds like it would taste good.
Wow I have so many ideas that I would love to put in effect, I would also love to hear what you guys think of the Bay Burger, if you make them definitely comment below with your opinions.
Enjoy the rest of your weekends and don't forget to help celebrate the first annual OLD BAY Day by entering the #OLDBAYOurWay photo contest for a chance to win an awesome summer supply of OLD BAY seasoning and swag! No-Bake Treats For Piper!!

~Cookies Please?!~

Hello All and Happy Saturday!!
I have shared so many great recipes with you guys, but this one is one of my favorites, it’s a recipe for your pups. Piper absolutely loves them, so I have a feeling your dogs will too. Now don’t get me wrong, there are so many treats you can buy from the store for your dog, so I’m sure you’re asking why would I want to go to all the trouble of making them myself when I can just get them at the grocery store? Well first off those treats are pretty pricey, and ok... so you want to treat your dog every once in a while ...which is fine, but look at the ingredients just once the next time you buy them. You will see that most of them you can’t even pronounce, let alone understand what the heck they are. Plus they add so many preservatives and other garbage to extend their shelf life, all in all it’s just not good for them. I like making them because number one I literally made them with my own hands, so I know for sure that every ingredient is healthy and natural. I know that they’re good for her, and that makes me feel good about feeding them to her. Plus it’s a super easy, no-bake recipe, that only requires a few items anyone can find in their kitchen.

Supplies you will need:
*A medium size bowl
*A spoon
*A measuring cup
*Some parchment paper/or Pam spray to slick         the cookie sheet
*A cookie sheet
*A plate

Dog Ingredients:
1/3 cup of creamy peanut butter
2 1/2 cups of old fashion oats (split in two parts of 2 cups and 1/2 cup)
1/4 cup of vitamin D milk
1 cup of puréed pumpkin

Instructions:
Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper or nonstick cooking spray, this will keep them from sticking. Sit the cookie sheet aside and combine all of the ingredients in the medium sized bowl, and fold them together. One they are well mixed, pour the 1/2 cup of oats we set aside onto a plate. Then use a small spoon to scoop up a small amount and roll it into a ball. Make sure your hands are wet, this keeps the mixture from sticking to your hands while you roll them into little balls. Then once you have a nice ball roll it in the oats on the plate to give them a nice coating. Then place them on the cookie sheet, be sure to space them evenly so they don’t harden together. Once you roll and coat them all, just cover and place them in the fridge for about 2 hrs until they harden.
Once they’re done put them in a Tupperware bowl and cover, they’re good for 8-10 days in the fridge.

Piper absolutely loves them, which makes me feel like I’m doing something right. As you can see in the pictures she stalked them until she got one 😂, she is such a little pip! It’s so funny because she’s only 5 months old and already she has the amazing characteristics of an adult dog. I’ve been debating on weather or not to take her to New York with me for Fashion Week because a. She’s my baby and of course I don’t want to leave her for a week with someone I don’t even know at some kennel, where she could catch kennel cough. That means I would have to take her to the vet to get a kennel cough vaccine because it’s very contagious. Now don’t get me wrong Piper is a doll...when it comes to me. When it comes to anyone else she wants no parts of anyone, plus she’s very mouthy. Sometimes she does a lot of vocalizing (aka yapping) to let anyone and everyone know to stay the hell away. Especially when food is involved, when I take her to restaurants with me she gets grumpy because I think she in turn thinks the waitress or waiter is trying to take the food, which she thinks of as her food. It’s hilarious!! I think is she is to go to NYC with us I will have to get her in a serious bootcamp mode the next two weeks. Otherwise she could start barking at ladies that come up and down the runway LOL, and we can’t have that! The good thing is she’s so tiny I can fit her in just about any bag I have, that may be my saving grace. If she goes we will be wearing matching styles such as bows, scarves, and T-shirt’s. I even saw a matching sweater set for Furmama and Furbaby on Etsy. I’m definitely thinking about scoping one, it will be so cute!! I’m so excited about the whole trip, and hopefully before I leave my video set will be complete and we can put out our first official video.
Thanks to all of you that have been supporting us on YouTube, you’re all so amazing.

My Star Wars Obsession

Star Wars & Pancakes!!

I don't think I've ever shared my love of Star Wars with you guys...hmmm I guess there's no time like the present. With the new movie coming out I decided to turn our first snow day into a Star Wars Movie Day!! I wanted to think of something fun, interesting and yummy, so I went all out and created a Star Wars themed pancake bar with all the trimmings, I even found some themed pancakes at the grocery store. I wrapped the table top in a fun holiday themed paper that I found at the toy store. I just used regular wrapping paper and covered the top then tucked the edges up under the edges. It looked so much better than any ole' table cloth, and it gave a bright and colorful look to the whole look. From there I took several small condiment bowls, and filled them with lots of different toppings and garnishes like fresh fruit, nutella, chocolate chips, and marshmallows. I like to use the fresh fruit more than anything because its so yummy, colorful and healthy.
As you can see the colorful appeal of the toppings looks fantastic atop of the theme paper.

Since it was a pancake bar I decided to go with the breakfast theme and make some strawberry orange juices, I also added in a bowl of donuts, crunchy peanut butter, pancake syrup, and sprinkles. Then because it was a movie day, I added in couple of (overflowing with popcorn) movie theater popcorn boxes, the ones with the red and white stripes. When I see those the first thing I think of is the movie theater. I also scattered popcorn all over the table to tie the movie theme in and give it a cohesive look. To top it off and finish the look, I added some of the cutest Star Wars figurines here and there on the table. I added in a plate of fried eggs and turkey bacon, to go with the pancakes and OJ. All in all I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the final results, let's just say I accomplished the idea of something fun and different...lol!!

Look at these pancakes...the cutest ever right? They have six different faces of the characters from the movies, I couldn't of found anything better or more fitting for my little idea. You ever get a crazy idea that you just have to follow through on?..lol!! Let's just say that by the end of the day we where more than pumped and ready to see the new movie. Did you see it yet?? I won't put out any spoilers, I'll just say it's amazing!! If you're a Star Wars family like we are you're gonna LOVE IT!!

I hope you guys enjoyed my little craziness as much as Rob did, it was fun and like I said something different. I'm just realizing Christmas is almost here...Wow this year went by so so fast! I'm so excited about spending time with my family, and the possibilities of a whole new year of new experiences. I'm also super eager to go to New York Fashion Week in February, especially since it will be cold weather. I love cold weather because of the fashion, nothing is better than a cuddly and warm North Face fleece, a cute pair of skinny jeans and over the knee boots. Now that's a killer look in my opinion, and it's comfortable. As you can see in the images below I was outside enjoying the tiny bit of snow we did get in the same exact style. I'm excited for more snow because I love sitting by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa, snuggling up with cute little Piper. There's nothing better, and that's a kind of cozy you just can't get when it's 80 degrees outside...am I right?
I have to admit though, I will always enjoy my ice cream...cold or not...lol!! Piper even got in on the first snow fun with me, but for her it was a first snow in two ways...or as they say the last first. She has never experienced snow before, I'm so glad she loves it as much as her Mama. She stayed nice and warm in her cute little coat as she frolicked around sniffing and exploring. With her crazy curiosity I can see I'm in for it, you guys have a wonderful week and stay warm!!
Also Have a Very Happy Holiday & New Year Everyone
!xoxo
